Reflections on December's accomplishments

Nov 2024 The Learning Continues I am getting into the transition now. There has been a lot to learn, and I still have so much more to go. I have had to figure out how to create a website, make a new Facebook account, and reach potential clients. It is a rollercoaster but I am mastering it! As I move forward with this adventure, I find that having a business and writing is what I have been missing for my personal and professional growth. I have found RN2Writer an online resource that is helping me move through this process. Beth Hanes, the primary coach is great so far. I look forward to the online coaching sessions that will be coming up. (They start in Dec.) Going from being a nurse to a business owner is an interesting, rewarding, and terrifying experience. I get to learn not just about how to write articles I want to write but, also get to learn about how a whole different world works, including the many steps needed to get things started a researching all the different options that are out there. Zen Business has been great in helping me start my business. They are an all-in-one place with great customer service. They can take care of all the paperwork needed to start a business, they provide an email address and a webpage that you get to design yourself or use a template they provide. I am also reading so much more now, analyzing how articles are written, what makes an article catch my attention, and what holds my attention. I am reading more blogs, and I am finding that I love the different ways people write theirs. They can be personal and informative a great combination. And webpages, I have been reading webpages for years, but never paid much attention to how they were written. It is a different way of writing as well. Webpages are made to be much more scannable, which I never realized all my life but did a lot of. It’s great how they can make the important things catch your eye, and then you can read more in-depth if you have the time and if you would like to, but you can scan the article and get a good idea of what it is trying to get across. Writing has always been something that has interested me, and to be able to write in so many different ways is something I never even knew was out there for me. I was stuck on the idea that you either wrote for a magazine or web page or your own blog. I had no idea that you could be hired to write for one or all of the different platforms. Such a great way to keep things interesting when writing. I am looking forward to what the next month has to offer me! Talk to you next month! 😊 Christina White RN
